This is as well as a pattern that is to a large extent repeated in other countries - although there's always exceptions to this. Abroad, parts of the former industrial heartland of the Ruhr in France: the city of Newcastle (in New South Wales) Australia & the 'Rust Belt' of The united states -with special mention of Detroit (Los angeles) & Cleveland (Ohio)- also suffer from similar effects. While rural areas can also show similar signs, without even focusing on the so-called emerging countries (such as India & China) - the explanations of geography & anger are far complex for this short article. Anger Management Glasgow
Is there a geographic link to anger? &, can your surroundings affect the way they feel? The answer to both of these questions is a sure 'yes'. Studies have shown that geography has a great influence on anger & associated conditions & our immediate & local surroundings has much to do with this. As far as geographic patterns of anger management go; recent studies have shown that in Britain there's positive parts of the country where anger -and indeed other conditions that are the contributors to anger- are more frequent.
In Britain something fascinating has been revealed. While all of the former industrial heartland cities & their wider metropolitan areas have fared poorly on the quality of life & health scales; Scotland's largest city Glasgow seems to come off worst of all - with the added view that 'anger' is more prevalent in this city of 581,320 & around two.5 million in Greater Glasgow Metro Area (General Register Office For Scotland, 2011) - more-so than others of similar size & make-up. Indeed, while Birmingham & the wider West Midlands are said to contain highest concentration of overweight people in Europe - with 29% of adults being classed as obese; Glasgow is said to be the angriest city in Britain. This combines with obesity, a poor physical surroundings in lots of areas, high unemployment rates as well as a lower life expectancy - all making a prime breeding ground for anger. This is by no-means an article that is designed to 'kick people why they are down', but to basically highlight an existing issue that has also been highlighted in other media. Life expectancy in parts of Glasgow's East Finish is as low as 54 years elderly for men as well as a slightly older 74 for ladies. This is due to numerous factors including: a higher proportion of deep fried food eaten: poor physical surroundings in lots of areas: consumption of alcohol including strong whisky & often less exercise being taken. These factors combined with lots of people from Glasgow, unlike other parts of Scotland, having greater difficulty expressing their emotions - historicallyin the past letting anger build up & releasing this as physical violence, although the reasons to portray this are still largely unknown. Although lots of new improvements to the city have been made over the past decades, this so-called 'Glasgow Effect' is still far from reducing & is actually increasing - though like every effect, this is not a 'one size fits all' phenomenon & varies depending on different areas of the city.
